The first photo is why they skip you
Dating Profile Score is not a vibe check and it is not “rate my face.” A screenshot goes through two models with two jobs. Stage one is allowed to see pixels. Stage two is only allowed to see a JSON evidence file. That split is how we stay specific without inventing a personality for you.
Stage 1 — evidence extraction (vision)
The extractor records observable facts only: which app UI is visible, whether a lead photo is on screen, face count, eyes visible, sunglasses, mirror selfie, group photo, lighting, framing, and the bio/prompt text it can actually read. If the pixels do not support a yes/no, it writes “unclear.” Cut-off text is never completed from memory.
It does not rate attractiveness, infer protected traits, or guess your personality. Demo or illustrated profile UIs still count if the lead card, name/age, bio, or prompts are readable. One clear lead-screen screenshot is enough for a first-impression score; missing bio is a limitation, not an automatic reject.
Stage 2 — presentation scoring (reasoning)
The scorer never sees the raw screenshot. It receives the evidence JSON and evaluates controllable presentation: photo clarity, order, variety, visible bio, visible prompts. Advice is tuned to the app — Hinge weights lead photo + replyable prompts; Tinder weights immediate visual clarity + a short bio; Bumble weights photo clarity plus opening-move context.
- score is ignore-risk: 0 is excellent, 100 is likely skipped. The number you see in the app is quality = 100 − ignore-risk.
- Bands: under 40 Needs work, 40–64 Average, 65–81 Solid, 82+ Strong. Labels are locked to the number so a high score never says “needs work.”
- warmthScore and competenceScore describe presentation signals only — not you as a person.
What comes back in one scan
A first-impression verdict on photo #1 alone (keep or not, plus what a stranger assumes in ~100ms). Three impact-ordered reasons. A suggested photo order. Per-photo keep / reorder / drop checks. A bio rewrite in your voice. Prompt replacements. The single biggest problem, named plainly.
What we delete
Screenshots are processed for the analysis, then deleted. We keep the score, rewrites, and other generated outputs you choose to save. That is the product: the fix list, not a gallery of your dating app.
FAQ
Do you score my face?
No. We score presentation choices we can see: lead crop, eye contact, sunglasses, group vs solo, lighting, bio hooks, prompt specificity. Attractiveness scoring is out of scope.
Why two models instead of one?
One model that both “sees” and “judges” starts inventing. Splitting extraction from scoring means every claim has to point at a recorded fact or admit it cannot be assessed.
